ABOUT US
The mission of the Stony Brook University Consulting Club (SBUCC) is to provide members with an understanding of the opportunities in management consulting, and a space to practice and develop consulting skills.
SBUCC has grown from 3 students kinda-sorta-maybe interested in consulting to over 70 members with a thirst for the critical thinking and strategic challenge consulting poses. Its members have competed in regional competitions at Yale, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, as well as international case competitions through the Innovation Olympics.
Our members use these competitions as an opportunity to network with the best and brightest in consulting, and have been successfully recruited to several consulting firms.

THEORY
Consider it an introduction to strategic thinking. We take our scientific thinking, and apply it to the business problems of today. Profitability, market sizing, entering a new market, and mergers & acquisitions are just a piece of what we cover in these meetings.
CASE COMPETITIONS
Every member has a chance to participate in these competitions. We partner the experienced and novices together to help our members learn from each other through a week-long competition against the best and brightest. The topics span from health care to travel, wine to IT - you'll never be bored, and you'll absolutely learn something new.
INDUSTRY OVERVIEWS
One of the best & worst things about consulting is that there are a lot of different industries, which means there may be unique problems to each. We take a deep dive into a particular industry to learn more about it. Who are the key players? What are the main issues? What is the future of this industry? We address this and more in our monthly industry overviews.
